Shanti Sewa Ashram (SSA)

Spiritual meeting at SSAThe Shanti Sewa Ashram (Shanti Sewa means 'peace and selfless service') was founded in Kathmandu for the promotion of peace as a reflection of Mr. Yogi's effort to bring organizations working in several areas of the society into a common forum. It dreams of fostering selfless service towards humanity through peace and non-violence and various practical, spiritual and philosophical programs such as discourses, seminars, conferences and community training and support projects.

SSA has a dedicated building in Kathmandu in which it hosts its educational and spiritual programs, and in which community projects such as handicraft training for unemployed women and after-school study classes for local children (Helping Children Study Club) take place.

SSA has future plans such as running an orphanage, an old people's home, a Yoga, meditation and naturopathy centre, an organic farm and a vocational training centre. In order to achieve these, money is needed for the initial costs of a new piece of land and building (the hope is to find a more rural, peaceful setting outside the ring road in Kathmandu), and although there is considerable support from Nepal for this project, any support would be hugely valuable in realising this dream.
